The body of popular South Korean actor Song Jae Rim was found at his home in Seoul on Friday.
According to a statement from the Seongdong police station, the 39-year-old actor was found dead. His death has left the country’s entertainment industry in a state of shock.
The cause of death is not known yet.
Authorities concluded that there was no sign of foul play. A two-page document was also found at the scene.
According to reports, the funeral for Song Jae Rim will be held on Thursday at the same location.
The last post he made on Instagram was posted almost a year ago.
His Instagram account was changed several weeks before his death. The new name, which was “Starting Along Journey,” prompted speculations about his state of mind.
His sudden death has also left many fans wondering what happened to him. According to reports, this change might have indicated that he was going through a personal transition.
Just a couple of weeks after his public appearance, the news of Song Jae Rim’s death was announced. He was promoting his latest projects, Queen Woo and My Military Valentine.
During an appearance on Good Morning FM 4U in August, he shared his future plans. He joked about his desire to become a meat processing technician or a fragrance expert.
He became a household name after starring as Kim Jae Won in the historical drama “The Moon Embracing The Sun,” which was released in 2012.
His career continued to grow after that film. He had various other projects, including “Inspiring Generation,” “Two Weeks,” and “Goodbye Mr. Black.”
In 2014, he became a fan favorite after he appeared on the TV variety show “We Got Married.” He worked with actress Kim So Eun.
