Erin’s husband, Alan Plummer, was found dead at the bottom of a cliff. He and the Australian TV personality had three children.
His death was confirmed this week.
It occurred two years after the former took her own life, and it marked a tragic end to her marriage.
It was initially reported that Alan died at his home in Sydney on Saturday. But, on Sunday, a body was discovered at the bottom of Freshwater beach.
A spokesperson for NSW Police told reporters that they were preparing a report regarding the death of 49-year old Alan.
The incident was reported after he failed to meet up with a friend for a swimming trip on Sunday.
A friend of Alan’s called the police to ask for a welfare check. After arriving at his home, the officers informed his daughter that he was missing.
According to the Mail, a lifeguard then found his body an hour later.
Alan’s death came two years after his wife committed suicide. On social media, a friend of Erin paid tribute to her, saying that the staff of Studio 10 lost a bit of sparkle following her sudden death.
Although TV host Erin Jayne Plummer’s death was officially ruled non-suspicious and attributed to suicide, new revelations have surfaced suggesting police investigated whether her husband, Mr. Plummer, had any involvement.
During the NSW State Coroner’s inquiry, friends reportedly disclosed that Erin had confided in them about being a victim of domestic violence and coercive control.
Behind the scenes, investigators explored an alternative theory surrounding her death, which coincided with a tumultuous love split, allegations of abuse, and a bitter family dispute over her will—all emerging in the wake of her husband’s sudden passing.
For over two decades, she had been a friendly face on television in Australia. She was known for her megawatt smile and positive personality.
If it weren’t for television, Erin would have been a prominent figure in Australian synchronized swimming and surf lifesaving. She was also a Gold Medal mum to her three children.
Her colleagues at Studio 10 were devastated by her sudden death.
They sent their condolences to her family and set up a Go Fund Me page to help support them.
The page stated that the goal was to raise funds to support a regular housekeeper and gardener for the Plummer household.
