An Australian teenage model’s life was cut short while he was on an extended break in Bali.
Aston Looker, 18, was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a residential complex on the popular Indonesian island.
The news has left his family and friends heartbroken, with his mother speaking out about the pain of losing her son too soon.
Aston’s Tragic Death
Aston, a former student at the prestigious Sydney school St Josephs College in Hunters Hill, was discovered floating in the pool of the residential complex in the Balinese village of Mengwi on August 22. A resident of the property found him and called security for assistance, but unfortunately, Aston couldn’t be revived.
A Mother’s Heartbreak
Aston’s mother, Sydney designer Amanda Lennon, took to social media to express her grief, saying she misses her son “every day, every hour, every minute and every second.” She wrote a heartfelt tribute to her son, saying he’s now in the “arms of angels” and that she loves his “cheeky personality and amazing looks” but most of all, his sense of humor.
“My supermodel son is in heaven we love you forever,” Ms. Lennon wrote on Instagram. “We love your cheeky personality and amazing looks but most of all you humour. Your mum will never ever forget you my favourite person in the universe. Aston you are gone too soon and mourning your death that was too soon.”
Aston’s Life and Legacy
Aston’s family and friends have shared fond memories of him on social media, remembering him as a kind, sensitive, and creative person. Family friend Victoria Montano posted a tribute to Aston, saying he was a “wasted life” and “one taken too soon.”
“Asty was a complete juxtaposition – visually, a perfect face a jaw line that looked as if it was chiselled from marble, broad shoulders courtesy of countless hours of surfing,” Ms. Montano wrote. “It was his vulnerability that drew you in. His sensitivity. His creative mind which no doubt worked away all day at a million miles an hour.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs Confirms
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed Aston’s death, which occurred in August. In a statement, the department said, “The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian man who died in Bali. We offer our deepest condolences to the family.”
