This week, Aaron Taylor-Johnson made a rare red carpet appearance with his wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and her two adult children from a previous relationship.
The family looked happy and united as they posed for photos at the premiere of Aaron’s new movie, Kraven The Hunter, in New York City.
A Family Affair
The 34-year-old Kick-Ass actor was joined by his 57-year-old wife, director of Fifty Shades of Grey, and her two daughters, Angelica Mara Jopling, 27, and Jessie Phoenix Jopling, 18. The family of four wrapped their arms around each other, beaming with joy as they posed for photographers.
Sam Stuns in Maroon Sequins
Sam, who is also a mother to two daughters with Aaron, Wylda, 13, and Romy, 12, stole the show in a stunning maroon sequined midi dress, complete with black tights, strappy heels, and dainty silver hoop earrings. Meanwhile, Aaron matched his wife’s style, opting for a maroon velvet blazer, long-sleeve button-down, black pants, and black shoes.
A Loving Couple
The married couple also took some solo photos, gazing lovingly at each other as they smiled for the cameras. Aaron and Sam have been going strong since tying the knot in 2012, and their love and affection for each other are still as strong as ever.
A May-December Romance
The couple’s 23-year age gap has been a topic of discussion over the years, but they have consistently defended their relationship. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK, Aaron explained that he feels a “protectiveness” toward their relationship, saying, “You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me.”
A United Front
Sam has also spoken out in defense of their relationship, telling the Guardian that their age differences have “never” been a problem for them. “It is just people upset with their own sadness; with misgivings about their own life,” she said.
A Family that Sticks Together
The couple’s two daughters, Wylda and Romy, were not present at the premiere, but Aaron explained to E! News that it was because they’re not old enough to watch the R-rated film. “When they come of age, they’ll be able to see it,” he said.
It’s clear that Aaron and Sam are a family that sticks together, and we love seeing them happy and united on the red carpet!
