If you’re planning on spending Christmas with family and friends outdoors, you’ll be happy to know that most Australian capitals will experience relatively warm weather this festive season.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), we can expect mostly cloudy skies, but with temperatures ranging from the low 20s to the 30s in many parts of the country.
Storms Only Expected in Northern Queensland
While the northern parts of Queensland are expected to experience storms, the rest of the country can breathe a sigh of relief. BoM senior meteorologist Miriam Bradbury appeared on Sunrise to share the Christmas Day forecast, saying that only the tropics will see storms, with Darwin potentially experiencing a lightning strike or two.
East Coast and Southeast Expecting Settled Weather
But for those living on the east coast and in the southeast, it’s looking like a pretty settled Christmas Day. Bradbury explained that a high-pressure system will bring sunshine and clear skies to many parts of the country, including Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney, and Tasmania.
