Tragedy Strikes in Rye
A shocking home invasion on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula earlier this month has left two people dead and four others arrested.
The incident occurred on December 2 at a residence on Parson St in Rye, where a 29-year-old man, Jack Gilmore, was at home when two intruders, a man and a woman, allegedly broke in.
A Deadly Confrontation
Gilmore, reportedly fearing for his life, fired a gun at the intruders, hitting the 19-year-old woman, Charlie Hayter. In a shocking turn of events, the second intruder allegedly shot Gilmore before fleeing the scene. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, both Gilmore and Hayter succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.
Four Arrests Made
