A 23-year-old woman’s life was tragically cut short in the early hours of the morning in Queensland’s Moreton Bay. Police are now on the hunt for two men accused of her murder.
A Senseless Act of Violence
Police were called to a house on Railway Parade, Caboolture, around 12:10 am after a woman was reported unconscious and not breathing. Despite attempts to save her life, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
What Happened That Fateful Night?
According to Moreton District Crime Group Detective Inspector David Harbison, police believe the woman was assaulted by two men before being shot dead in the street. The group is thought to have known each other, making this senseless act of violence even more disturbing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Harbison is urging anyone with information to come forward. “Whilst the public nature of this crime is alarming, police do not believe this to be a random attack,” he said. “There are people out there who know who these individuals are. Do the right thing, a 23-year-old has lost her life in tragic circumstances.”
Eyewitnesses Report Multiple Gunshots
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area before midnight, which is believed to be when the assault and murder took place. The woman did not live at the home where she was found, and the address is not thought to be connected to the murder investigation.
The Search for Two Suspects
No arrests have been made, and no weapon has been found. Police are now searching for two men who were seen in the area around the time of the murder. If you have any information, no matter how small, please come forward to help bring justice to the victim and her loved ones.
