Beloved Star Wars actor Angus MacInnes has passed away at the age of 77.
The actor, known for his iconic roles in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope and 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on December 23.

Born on October 27, 1947, in Ontario, Canada, MacInnes began his acting career in the mid-1970s. His first on-screen appearance was in 1975’s Rollerball, marking the start of a long and illustrious career.
His Star Wars Legacy
MacInnes’ most notable role came in 1977 when he played Gold Leader/Jon “Dutch” Vander in George Lucas’ groundbreaking film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. He reprised his role nearly 40 years later in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards.
