A disturbing video has surfaced showing a zookeeper’s last moments before being mauled to death by a group of lions at Lion Park in Uzbekistan.
The incident has left many in shock and has raised questions about the safety measures in place at the zoo.
A Reckless Decision
The zookeeper, identified as 44-year-old F. Iriskulov, had entered the lion enclosure at 5am to “impress his girlfriend”. He filmed himself opening the padlock to the cage, seemingly unaware of the danger that lay ahead. The lions, initially unbothered by Iriskulov’s presence, were lying down in the corner of the enclosure.
A Fatal Mistake
As Iriskulov approached the lions, calling out “Simba”, they began to stir. Despite the clear signs of agitation from the lions, Iriskulov continued to taunt them, saying “Simba, be quiet”. The camera captures the moment when one of the lions clamps down on Iriskulov’s arm, causing him to shriek in pain.
A Gruesome End
The video ends with Iriskulov’s bloodcurdling screams and the sound of the lions’ low growls as they attack him. The aftermath of the incident was gruesome, with photos showing Iriskulov’s body parts severely mutilated. The three lions were found to have killed and devoured Iriskulov, with two of them being tranquillized and recaptured, and the third being shot dead.
Investigation Underway
The incident has sparked an investigation by the police and environmental authorities, with the zoo releasing a statement saying that the lions had killed Iriskulov and partially consumed his body. The Uzbek Department of Internal Affairs has assured that there is no danger to the local population and that the lions have been returned to a special cage.
A Tragic Reminder
This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of safety measures and protocols in place at zoos and wildlife parks. It also highlights the risks of reckless behavior and the importance of treating wild animals with respect and caution. The video of Iriskulov’s last moments is a shocking and disturbing reminder of the power of nature and the consequences of our actions.
