A Devastating Discovery in the Search for a Missing Child
A massive search effort in Sydney’s south-west has ended in tragedy, with police confirming that a body has been found. The search began when a 5-year-old boy with autism was reported missing, and unfortunately, the worst fears have been realized.
The Search Effort
The boy was first reported missing to Liverpool City police, sparking a large-scale search operation in the Chipping Norton area and surrounding suburbs. Police worked tirelessly to locate the child, following up on every lead and searching high and low.
A Body Found in George’s River
At around 10:10 pm on Thursday, a body was discovered in the George’s River, nearby to where the search was focused. While the body is yet to be formally identified, it’s believed to be that of the missing 5-year-old boy.
Investigation Ongoing
Police are currently treating the incident as non-suspicious, but an investigation is still underway. A report will be prepared for the coroner, and authorities will work to determine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
