A devastating fire in a caravan in Victoria has left a community in shock and mourning the loss of a “beautiful little boy”.
The three-year-old toddler was found inside the caravan on Lake View St in Boort, a small town 250km northwest of Melbourne, on Thursday, January 2.
A Family’s Worst Nightmare
The toddler’s aunt, Jess Sargeant, took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, describing the incident as “horrific”.
“It’s with heavy hearts we want to pass on the devastating news that our amazing little 3.5yo nephew has passed away,” she wrote.
“My brother and his beautiful wife have had to go through something no parent should ever have to endure and have had to say goodbye to their beautiful little boy.”
Community Comes Together
The close-knit community of Boort has rallied around the family, offering condolences and support on the town’s community Facebook page.
“Thinking of you all at this heartbreaking time,” one resident wrote, while another said, “Our thoughts are with you all at this devastating time.”
The outpouring of support has also extended to a GoFundMe page, which has raised over $33,000 to help the boy’s parents during this difficult time.
As the community continues to mourn the loss of this young life, one thing is clear: the people of Boort are coming together to support a family in need.
If you’d like to show your support, you can donate to the GoFundMe page or leave a message of condolence on the community Facebook page.
Every little bit of kindness can make a big difference to those who are grieving.
