If you’re a fan of Cadbury’s Twirl chocolate, you’re in for a shock. The beloved treat has just undergone a significant change that’s left shoppers fuming.
Multipacks of Twirl chocolate bars have been reduced from four to three, but here’s the kicker – the price remains the same!
What’s Behind the Change?
So, what’s the big deal? Previously, four-packs of Twirl contained four sets of two Twirl fingers, each pair weighing 34g.
Now, you’ll only get three sets of two, with each pair weighing 43g. That’s a reduction of 5% in chocolate content, from 136g to 129g.
To put that into perspective, if you’re in Australia, you’re looking at a price tag of around AU$3.50 for less chocolate than before.
Outrage on Social Media
Chocolate lovers have taken to social media to express their outrage over the change.
One fan commented, “Just a curious post really to flag a @CadburyUK issue. They have reduced Twirl multipack sizes from 4x2bars to 3×2 bars but still charging the same.
Not sure about other lines. Prices skyrocket from around AU$2.20 to AU$3.50 now this, frankly outrageous.” Another fan chimed in, “This is shrinkflation gone too far.
The Twirl bars were already getting incrementally smaller but all of a sudden Cadbury’s have now reduced the multipack from 4 to 3-bars! Could not believe it. Had to find a replacement.”
The Verdict
It seems like Cadbury’s decision to reduce the amount of chocolate in their multipacks while keeping the price the same has backfired.
Fans are calling out the company for “shrinkflation” and are looking for alternative treats. Will you be giving Cadbury’s the cold shoulder over this move? Let us know in the comments!
