A devastating car crash in Sydney’s western suburbs has left a woman dead and a community in shock.
The incident occurred on Punchbowl Road, Belfield, when a car smashed into a house, trapping the female passenger inside.
What Happened?
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 10:30 am after receiving reports of the crash.
When police arrived, they found a vehicle embedded in the house, with the female passenger trapped.
Despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, an 82-year-old man, was treated for his injuries and taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Investigation Underway
Police have established a crime scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner, and the woman’s identity is yet to be formally released.
