A shocking murder has taken place in the quiet suburb of Cowandilla, leaving residents stunned and police scrambling to piece together the events surrounding the deadly incident.
A Deadly Encounter
According to SA Police, a 60-year-old man was allegedly killed by a young man known to him in his own home.
The suspect, a 32-year-old man, was later found injured in a nearby business on Henley Beach Rd at Torrensville, which he allegedly broke into around 12:30 am on Tuesday.
A Series of Events Unfolds
The break-in triggered a series of alarms, prompting police to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the 32-year-old with a leg injury.
Following a thorough investigation, the suspect led police back to the Cowandilla home, where the body of the 60-year-old victim was discovered.
Investigation Underway
SA Police have confirmed that both men knew each other, and the victim is believed to be a resident of the address.
The scene is currently being managed by police, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder.
A Suspect in Custody
The 32-year-old suspect has been arrested but is yet to be charged. He is receiving treatment for his leg injury and is expected to face murder charges, as well as property-related offences, once his medical treatment is complete.
