A horrifying crime was revealed in court, where an 18-year-old transgender girl was stabbed nine times by a group of teenagers.
The attack was reportedly a revenge act for the victim allegedly lying about her gender identity before engaging in a sex act with one of the perpetrators.
The Attack: A Vicious and Premeditated Assault
The victim, who cannot be named, was lured to a roller-skating disco where she was ambushed by a masked mob shouting homophobic slurs.
The group, consisting of five teenagers, punched, kicked, and stamped on the victim, leaving her with severe injuries, including multiple stab wounds. The brutal 45-second assault was plotted on Snapchat and even filmed by the attackers.
The Perpetrators’ Brutal Actions
Summer Betts-Ramsey, now 20, was identified as one of the main perpetrators.
She allegedly kicked the victim at least seven times before pulling out a knife and stabbing her 14 times, causing injuries to the nose, thigh, hand, and buttocks.
The other teenagers involved in the attack used roller skates to beat the victim and stole her handbag.
A Miracle Survival
The victim’s life was saved when a member of the public intervened, and she received medical attention.
The court heard that the attack had a devastating impact on the victim’s life, leaving her with panic attacks, sleep disorders, and a fear of leaving her house.
The victim, an aspiring model, may also be unable to pursue her career due to the physical and emotional scars from the attack.
The Motive Behind the Attack
The court revealed that the attack was orchestrated by Bradley Harris, 18, who had discovered the victim’s true gender identity after she had denied it before performing a sex act on him.
Harris, who had secretly recorded the encounter, sought revenge after the victim admitted to being transgender. Betts-Ramsey was heard on the phone saying, “I have to go to Harrow to beat up a f****** tranny bro.”
Justice to Be Served
Betts-Ramsey, along with four other teenagers, will be sentenced on Thursday for their roles in the attack.
All of them have admitted to grievous bodily harm, and one 17-year-old girl has admitted to robbery.
The victim’s ordeal has sparked outrage and highlights the need for greater awareness and acceptance of the transgender community.
The incident has also raised concerns about the safety and well-being of transgender individuals, particularly in public spaces.
As the sentencing approaches, the community is left to wonder how such a heinous crime could have been perpetrated and what can be done to prevent similar attacks in the future.
