A massive tree came crashing down in Sydney’s CBD due to wild winds, trapping two people underneath.
Fortunately, NSW Ambulance paramedics were quick to respond, taking one person to St Vincent’s Hospital with minor injuries, while the second person received treatment at the scene.
The Storm That’s Got Everyone Talking
The wild weather that’s been sweeping across Sydney is just the beginning.
The Bureau of Meteorology had earlier warned of damaging winds in the Sydney metropolitan area, and it seems their predictions were spot on.
Trees have fallen on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line, disrupting services, and another tree fell on power lines, causing a gas leak in West Pymble.
A Summer of Wild Weather Ahead
It’s not just Sydney that’s experiencing wild weather. A tropical cyclone is threatening to hit Western Australia, bringing with it heavy rain and battering winds.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of a 70% chance that the cyclone will develop into a severe tropical cyclone, with damaging winds exceeding 200km/h.
