A horrific incident has left a 34-year-old woman fighting for her life after she was allegedly set on fire by a man known to her in Kingston, Queensland.
The attack, which police believe was related to domestic violence, occurred on Saturday morning at a home on Kingston Court.
The Incident Unfolds
According to police, the woman and a 36-year-old man were involved in an altercation before the man pulled out a lighter and set the woman on fire.
The incident happened around 7:45 am, and paramedics were quickly called to the scene.
The woman was found with life-threatening burns on her body and was treated by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
Arrest and Charges
A 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of common assault. He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, January 20.
The crime scene was established at the home, and secondary crime scenes were set up at Gould Adams Park on Kingston Road and the Kingston Train Station.
