The search for 41-year-old Debbra McKenzie, who had been missing for four weeks, has come to a devastating end.
Her body was discovered in River Gum Creek Reserve, a park in Melbourne’s southeast, on Friday morning.
A Mysterious Disappearance
Debbra was last seen at her home on Springfield Crescent in Hampton Park on December 17 at around 3:30 pm.
What’s even more puzzling is that she left her home without any belongings, including her keys, clothes, wallet, and phone.
This unusual behaviour has left many questions unanswered.
The Discovery
Police found Debbra’s body during a line search of the park, which was part of their investigation into her disappearance.
The discovery was made at around 9:55 am on Friday.
Officers were seen canvassing the area, talking to residents and taping off the section of the park where the body was found.
What’s Next?
While the cause of Debbra’s death is still unknown, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding her passing.
The police are still investigating and have not ruled out any possibilities, including the chance that her death may be suspicious.
As the authorities continue to look for answers, the community is left to mourn the loss of a life that was taken too soon.
