Residents in parts of Western Australia have been told it’s too late to leave as Tropical Cyclone Sean continues to intensify, bringing with it destructive winds and heavy rainfall.
The cyclone has strengthened to a Category 3, with winds of up to 150km/h near the centre and gusts reaching a whopping 205km/h.

A flood warning has been issued for the Pilbara, with intense rainfall and flash flooding possible between Mardie and the North West Cape.

The DFES has issued an emergency warning, telling residents from Barrow Island to Ningaloo to shelter in place.

Meanwhile, residents in WA’s Wheatbelt were shaken by an earthquake on Sunday morning. The 3.8 magnitude earthquake, which occurred 5km below ground, was an aftershock to the damaging 1968 earthquake that hit the same region. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
