A frightening encounter with a shark left a young boy injured at a family-friendly beach near Perth, sending beachgoers into shock on Thursday evening.
What Happened?
In a heart-stopping moment, a 12-year-old boy was bitten by a shark while playing in the shallow waters of Shipwreck Cove, Golden Bay, just north of Mandurah.
The incident occurred around 5 PM, turning a regular beach day into an emergency situation.
How Serious Are the Injuries?
Thankfully, the boy’s injuries aren’t life-threatening! He received a minor bite to his lower body and was quickly rushed to Rockingham General Hospital by ambulance.
The good news? Doctors expect him to be back home as early as Friday.

Local authorities are taking no chances. The Department of Regional Industries and Regional Development has confirmed the shark attack, though they haven’t identified the type or size of the shark involved.
