Matildas captain Sam Kerr has given her fans a sneak peek into her personal life, sharing a progress picture of her fiancée Katie Mewis’ pregnancy on Instagram.
The adorable photo shows Mewis beaming with joy as she cradles her growing baby bump, and Kerr couldn’t help but gush about her “glowing” partner.
The Countdown Begins
With Mewis already 26 weeks pregnant, the couple is expected to welcome their little one in early May.
The news of their pregnancy was first announced in late November, with Kerr excitedly declaring “Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!” on social media.
A Whirlwind Romance
Kerr and Mewis got engaged in September 2023, and have been inseparable ever since.
The power couple recently spent time with family in Perth over Christmas, before attending teammate Emily van Egmond’s wedding in NSW’s Hunter Valley.
However, their holiday was cut short when Kerr’s grandmother was hospitalised after being hit by a car in Palmyra.
Off-Pitch Drama
Kerr has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, including a pre-trial hearing in a London court last week.
The soccer star is charged with causing a police officer harassment, alarm or distress under Section 4A of the UK Public Order Act, and is set to face trial on February 3.
Kerr has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Injury Update
On a separate note, Kerr has been sidelined with an ACL injury since January 2024, and has not been seen on the pitch for her London-based club Chelsea this season.
Despite the setbacks, Kerr and Mewis are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their baby, and fans can’t wait to meet the new addition to their family.
