The Chilling Reason Behind Jeffrey Dahmer’s Brutal Prison Murder
You might have heard of Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the most notorious serial killers in American history. But do you know what led to his gruesome murder inside a Wisconsin prison?
According to Christopher Scarver, the man who beat Dahmer to death, it was the serial killer’s twisted sense of humor that ultimately led to his demise.
A Creepy Sense of Humor
Scarver, who is serving two life terms for killing Dahmer and another inmate, Jesse Anderson, revealed that Dahmer would often turn prison food into fake limbs covered in ketchup to resemble blood.
He would then leave these gruesome creations around the prison for others to find. This disturbing behavior was just one example of Dahmer’s morbid humor, which made many people in the prison uncomfortable.
A Lack of Remorse
Dahmer’s former prison minister, Roy Ratcliff, also spoke about the serial killer’s disturbing behavior.
According to Ratcliff, Dahmer would often make jokes about his cannibalistic past, saying “I bite” to nervous guards just to see them jump away. This behavior was not just a twisted form of humor but also a way for Dahmer to exert control over those around him.
As Ratcliff noted, “He sort of played with his persona to exaggerate it and make people more fearful.”
The Final Confrontation
Scarver said that he kept a newspaper article detailing Dahmer’s heinous crimes, which included killing 17 men and boys, having sex with corpses, and eating human body parts.
Just before he killed Dahmer, Scarver confronted him with the article, asking if he had indeed committed those atrocities.
Dahmer was taken aback by the question, and Scarver’s disgust and anger ultimately boiled over into violence. Using a metal bar from the prison weight room, Scarver struck Dahmer twice in the head, ending the serial killer’s life.
A Brutal End to a Twisted Life
Scarver’s actions on that day in 1994 were a brutal end to a life marked by unimaginable violence and horror.
While some might see Scarver’s actions as a form of justice, they also raise questions about the nature of violence and the effects of imprisonment on the human psyche.
As we look back on this chilling case, we are reminded of the darkest aspects of human nature and the devastating consequences of unchecked evil.
