A devastating car accident has shaken the small outback town of White Cliffs in western NSW, leaving a community in mourning.
A 16-year-old boy, who was allegedly behind the wheel of a ute, has been discharged from hospital after a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 9-year-old boy.
What Happened?
The tragic incident occurred on Glendara Rd on Friday at around 7pm when the ute overturned on a property.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to find the 9-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, critically injured.
Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival at White Cliffs Hospital.
Investigation Underway
The 16-year-old boy was also taken to hospital, where he underwent mandatory testing and treatment for his injuries. He has since been released from hospital, according to NSW Police.
A crime scene has been established on the property, and police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner as investigations continue.
