A shocking incident unfolded at a Somerville shopping centre this morning, leaving shoppers stunned and police scrambling to respond.
Three teenage boys were taken into custody after allegedly pointing imitation handguns at people in the centre.

The drama began around 10:40 am when the boys, who are yet to be named, allegedly swiped the fake guns from a store inside the centre on Eramosa Road.
Witnesses claim the boys then proceeded to point the imitation weapons at members of the public as they moved through the centre, sparking widespread panic.

Fortunately, police were quick to respond to the incident and arrested the trio.
The boys are currently being held in custody and are expected to be interviewed by police in the coming hours.
