A devastating single-vehicle crash on Cargo Rd at Lake Canobolas, just 8km west of Orange, has left a community in shock.
The accident occurred around 6pm on Sunday, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old female passenger.
The Crash: What Happened
According to NSW Police, the vehicle veered off the road, drove into an embankment, and crashed into a tree.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, was critically injured and trapped in the car. Emergency services rushed to the scene and managed to free him from the wreckage.
Aftermath of the Crash
Sadly, the 42-year-old woman died at the scene. Her identity has not been formally released yet.
The 30-year-old driver was airlifted to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The incident is currently under investigation, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
