A devastating car accident has claimed the life of a man on the Bruce Highway near Rockhampton, after his vehicle collided with a milk truck in the early hours of Monday morning.
What Happened?
The crash occurred around 3:20 am near Gavial Creek and Whyte Road at Port Curtis, leaving the driver of the car critically injured.
Unfortunately, he died at the scene. The victim has not been identified yet, and he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Truck Driver Escapes Injury
The driver of the milk truck, on the other hand, was fortunate to escape physical injury.
He was taken to Rockhampton Hospital for a medical assessment after his vehicle rolled over and caught fire.
Fire crews were quickly called to the scene to put out the flames, which had spread from the cabin to the trailer. The fire was finally extinguished by around 4:20 am.
