A brutal street fight in western Sydney has left a 28-year-old man fighting for his life with serious head injuries.
The brawl, which allegedly involved up to 40 people armed with knives, machetes, and baseball bats, erupted on Sunday evening at a reserve on Byrnes St in South Granville.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 5:40 pm after reports of a large group of people clashing.
When police arrived, they found the injured man with serious head injuries, which were later treated by paramedics before he was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Arrests and Charges
A 29-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with affray and custody of a knife in a public place.
He was refused bail and is set to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday.
