A devastating loss has shaken the NSW Police Force after a senior constable was found dead at a Sydney police station.
The officer, identified as 52-year-old Senior Constable Mark Hobson, was discovered at the Sydney Police Centre in Surry Hills on Monday.

Senior Constable Hobson’s career in the police force spanned over two decades, beginning with his training at the Goulburn Police Academy in 1996.
He went on to work with the State Technical Investigations Branch, dedicating his life to serving and protecting the community.
His family also has a strong connection to the force, with his father, Ian, being a retired sergeant and another male relative having served as a police officer.
A Community in Mourning
NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb visited the station, expressing her condolences and describing it as a “very sad day for the NSW Police Force”.
She assured that every support will be made available for staff and family affected by this tragedy.
Tributes have poured in online, with former colleagues and friends remembering Senior Constable Hobson as a “nice young man” who was always helpful and willing to lend a hand.
