Two weeks since her disappearance, the search for 29-year-old Tayla Spies continues, with new details emerging about her last known whereabouts.
Police are seeking urgent public assistance to help locate the missing mum, who was last seen in Dalby, Queensland.
Last Known Sighting: Where Was Tayla Headed?
According to police, Tayla’s mobile phone data places her east of Surat, about an hour after her car was spotted driving through the town.
However, from there, her trail goes cold. “We don’t know where she’s gone,” said Queensland Police Detective Inspector Garry Watts.
The search area spans a massive 5000sq km, covering areas south of Yuleba, Glenmorgan, and Meandarra in outback Queensland.
Desperate Plea: Family and Police Growing Concerned
As the days turn into weeks, Tayla’s family and police are growing increasingly concerned for her safety. “We have grave concerns about the health and safety of Tayla,” Inspector Watts said.
Tayla’s family is also worried, as she didn’t make contact with them on her recent birthday, which is “really out of character” for her.
CCTV Footage: Last Glimpse of Tayla
Police have released CCTV footage of Tayla just hours before she vanished. The footage shows her carrying a large bag into her white Toyota HiLux, before driving towards Surat.
Her vehicle was last seen at the intersection of Burrowes Street and Cordelia Street in Surat at 11:10 am.
Can You Help? Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage
Police are urging anyone who was travelling between Dalby, Surat, and surrounding areas between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm on Sunday, February 2, to check their dash-camera footage for any sign of Tayla or her vehicle.
If you have any information, no matter how small, please come forward.
