A devastating house fire broke out in the southwest of Sydney overnight, resulting in the loss of two lives.
The blaze occurred on St Johns Rd in Heckenberg, with emergency services responding to the scene at approximately 12:40am on Wednesday.

Firefighters battled to extinguish the flames, which caused significant damage to the property.
Once inside, authorities discovered the bodies of a 46-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl.

Miraculous Escape for Those Inside
In a miraculous turn of events, eight others – including four adults and four children – managed to escape the inferno. They were treated by paramedics at the scene, with several requiring hospital care.
A young girl remains in critical condition at Westmead Children’s Hospital, while a man is fighting for his life at Concord Hospital. Two others, a child and a man, were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.
