The Block’s beloved Foreman, Keith Schleiger, has shared a concerning update with his fans on Instagram, revealing that he’s been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery due to a hip infection.
The 50-year-old TV personality, who stepped back from his full-time duties on the show in 2024 to spend more time with his family, has been open about his health struggles.
What Happened to Foreman Keith?
Keith took to Instagram to explain that he had a full hip replacement 10 years ago, but unfortunately, the hip has become infected.
He was rushed to hospital for a three-hour operation to remove the infected components, which were then replaced. However, the infection has spread to his entire left leg, and he’s now receiving antibiotics intravenously every 8 hours.
The Road to Recovery
Foreman Keith is staying positive, but the road to recovery won’t be easy. If the antibiotics don’t work, he’ll have to undergo another surgery to remove the remaining components and have a full hip replacement.
“Fingers crossed the antibiotics beat the infection, otherwise I’m in serious trouble,” he said.
A Difficult Decision
Keith’s health battle comes after he made the tough decision to step back from his full-time duties on The Block in 2024.
He wanted to spend more time with his daughters, Ebony, 14, and Jasmin, 11, and couldn’t commute to Phillip Island for filming. “I couldn’t see a way of seeing my children more than once a week,” he explained.
A New Chapter
Although Keith is no longer a full-time Foreman on The Block, he’s been kept busy with his new business, Keith’s Bathrooms and Renovations.
He’s also been enjoying quality time with his family and has been open about missing his time on the show.
We wish Foreman Keith a speedy recovery during this challenging time and hope he’s back to his old self soon.
