Popular podcast host Abbie Chatfield has made a surprising confession about her recent interview with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
In a 90-minute conversation on her podcast, "It's A Lot with Abbie Chatfield", she discussed a wide range of topics with the PM, from his leadership style to climate change and his relationship with US President Donald Trump.
A Biased Interview?
Chatfield didn't shy away from admitting that the interview was biased, stating that she prefers the Labor Party over the Liberal Party.
She explained that her goal was to help get Labor back into government, and that she didn't want to spend time debating the PM when she could be questioning him on important issues.
"If you're thinking 'this is so biased' – it is biased," she said.
Why Chatfield Didn't Debate the PM
Chatfield revealed that she had invited Opposition Leader Peter Dutton to appear on the podcast, but he declined.
She also tried to get former Liberal Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on the show, but he was too busy. Chatfield said that she didn't have time to debate the PM, and instead focused on asking him questions and letting him respond.
Albanese Fires Back at Dutton
During the interview, Chatfield asked the PM about his perceived weakness as a leader, and he responded by criticizing Opposition Leader Peter Dutton's actions as "weak".
Albanese said that being strong isn't just about doing long-form interviews, but about standing up for what's right and fighting for those who can't fight back.
Climate Change, Gender Equality, and More
The PM also discussed his government's plans to address climate change, gender equality, and other important issues.
He insisted that if he remains Prime Minister, his government will continue to work on these issues and create opportunities for people through education and strengthened Medicare.
The Trump Factor
Chatfield also asked the PM about his relationship with US President Donald Trump, and whether Australians should be scared of Trump's potential return to the White House.
Albanese said that he had a constructive conversation with Trump about trade and tariffs, and that his job is to represent Australia's national interest.
What's Next for Australia?
As the federal election approaches, Chatfield's interview with the PM has sparked interesting discussions about the future of Australia.
With the election date dominating the political agenda, Australians are eagerly waiting to see what's next for the country. Will the Labor Party remain in power, or will the Liberal Party take over? Only time will tell.
