Shocking Arrest: Hospital Worker Faces Charges
A 27-year-old Bankstown Hospital worker, Ahmad Rashad Nadir, has been charged by NSW Police over a disturbing video that made threats against Israeli patients.
The video, which was posted online, has sparked widespread outrage and concern.
The Charges
Nadir was arrested at Sutherland Police Station and has been slapped with several charges, including using a carriage service to menace, harass and offend.
He has also been charged with possessing a prohibited drug. The young man has been granted conditional bail and is set to appear in court later this month.
Not the First Incident
This is not the first time a hospital worker has been charged in connection with the video. Earlier this month, another nurse, Sarah Abu Lebdeh, was also charged.
The incident has raised serious questions about the safety and security of patients at the hospital.
Part of a Larger Crackdown
The arrest is part of a larger effort by NSW Police to tackle antisemitic attacks in Sydney.
Strike Force Pearl was set up in December to respond to a spate of incidents, and so far, 15 people have been arrested and 78 charges have been laid.
NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb has reaffirmed the force's commitment to keeping the community safe and bringing perpetrators to justice.
