If you're a fan of Married At First Sight, you've probably been following the drama-filled partner swap challenge that's got everyone talking.
And one couple that's been at the center of the controversy is Dave Thomas Hand and Veronica Cloherty. But are the rumors of a secret romance between them true?
A Strong Connection Forms
During the challenge, Dave and Veronica formed a strong bond, which has left many viewers wondering if they're more than just friends.
In fact, Veronica even admitted that she thinks she would've been better matched with Dave than her current "husband" Eliot Donovan.
The two of them got along extremely well, bonding over drinks and sharing laughs together. And if that's not enough, they were even caught giggling together in bed one morning!
Setting the Record Straight
But according to Dave, nothing romantic happened between them. In an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, he explains that the editing of the show made it look like something more was going on.
"I got along with Veronica, there’s no denying that, but that’s all it was," he says.
"I was exhausted from the retreat, dinner party, and commitment ceremony, and it was refreshing to hang out with someone else."
The Bed Incident: What Really Happened
When asked about the incident where he and Veronica were caught in bed together, Dave admits that it "didn't look good."
However, he explains that the cameras were trying to catch them sleeping, and his comment was just a lighthearted response to the situation.
"You turn an awkward situation into a laugh, and that's what I did," he says.
Veronica Speaks Out
Veronica has also responded to the rumors, confirming on The MAFS Funny Podcast that she and Dave didn't hook up during feedback week.
In fact, she's been abstinent for almost two years and finds the whole situation "hilarious."
She believes that people are just looking for someone to blame, and she's an easy target given her recent drama on the show.
Jamie Weighs In
Meanwhile, Jamie Marinos, Dave's partner, has spoken out about the cheating scandal. While she doesn't think they cheated, she believes that Veronica had a strong attraction to Dave and was "flirting her a** off" during the partner swap.
However, she trusts Dave and doesn't think he would ever cheat on her.
