Rugby league great Wally Lewis has married his partner Lynda Adams in a beautiful ceremony in Brisbane.
The 65-year-old, known as “The King,” beamed with joy as he exchanged vows with his bride in front of friends and family at the historic St Mary’s Anglican Church.
A Day to Remember
The couple’s special day was filled with love, laughter, and celebration.
Lynda stunned in an eye-catching gown featuring a feathered ivory skirt and a fitted bodice, complete with sheer tulle sleeves and a bouquet of chrysanthemums.
Wally, meanwhile, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo and a yellow rose boutonniere.
After the ceremony, guests were whisked away to a lavish reception at Old Government House in the heart of the Brisbane CBD.
The happy couple was showered with confetti as they made their way out of the church, beaming broadly as they greeted their loved ones.
A Family Rift
However, the happy occasion was somewhat marred by the absence of Wally’s three children – Lincoln, 37, Jamie Lee, 34, and Mitchell, 26.
The siblings were noticeably absent from the celebrations, with Lincoln even taking to Instagram to share an image of himself attending an Australian Tourism Exchange event in Brisbane as his father exchanged vows.
According to sources, the family rift is a result of Wally’s separation from his first wife Jacqueline, with whom he has three children.
The couple’s split has reportedly caused tension between Wally and his kids, who are said to have sided with their mother.
A New Chapter
Despite the family drama, Wally and Lynda seem to be looking forward to their new life together.
The couple has been dating for over three years and their relationship commenced shortly after Lewis separated from Jacqueline after 36 years of marriage.
As Wally begins this new chapter with Lynda, he has expressed his hope that his family can “rebuild our ties and move on with life.”
Only time will tell if the rugby league legend can mend his relationships with his children and start a new chapter with his bride.
A Star-Studded Guest List
The wedding was attended by several notable figures, including Footy Show host and fellow NRL legend Paul Vautin, who was spotted at the nuptials.
Wally’s long-time teammate Gene Miles served as his best man, adding a touch of nostalgia to the proceedings.
The union between Wally and Lynda marks a new beginning for the rugby league legend, and we wish the happy couple all the best for their future together!
