The reality TV world is still reeling from the shock of 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis’ son, Weston Jr., passing away at the age of 16.
In a devastating turn of events, Purvis reportedly missed her son’s funeral, and the circumstances surrounding her absence are still unclear.
What Happened at the Funeral?
According to sources close to the family, Purvis was allegedly turned away from the funeral after arriving late.
The service was held at a Georgia funeral home, and it’s claimed that Purvis was told the wrong start time.
However, Weston Jr.’s father, Weston Gosa Sr., has a different story to tell.
He says that he personally invited Purvis to the funeral and informed her of the correct schedule, which included a viewing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by the service at 4 p.m.
A Timeline of Tragedy
Purvis took to Facebook on June 2 to confirm the heartbreaking news of her son’s death. She shared a series of emotional posts, expressing her grief and devastation.
“This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston, has passed away,” she wrote. “He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand.”
Remembering Weston Jr.
Weston Jr. was born in April 2009 during the first season of 16 and Pregnant.
His mother, Whitney Purvis, had been open about the challenges she faced as a teen mom.
Sadly, Purvis lost custody of her sons, Weston Jr. and River, after the show aired. Weston Jr.’s stepmom, Amy Gosa, shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook, revealing that the family had tried to wake him up on the morning of June 2, but he was unresponsive.
A Family in Mourning
The Gosa family is still trying to come to terms with the loss of Weston Jr. Amy Gosa wrote, “We attempted CPR and called an ambulance.
The paramedics attempted it as well and took him to the hospital in Gordon County, where he was pronounced dead.”
The family has been left “completely heartbroken and in shock” by the unexpected tragedy.
A Mother’s Love
Purvis’ social media posts have given a glimpse into the deep bond she shared with her son. “I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa,” she wrote.
“God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can’t go on without you.”
As the family navigates this difficult time, fans and supporters are sending their condolences and support.
