A devastating multi-vehicle accident has occurred on the Great Northern Highway in Chittering, leaving one driver dead.
The fatal collision, which took place on Saturday at around 11:10 am, involved a road train, a tow truck, and a car.
What Happened
According to the police, the crash happened south of Chittering Roadhouse, and the driver of the car was critically injured, unfortunately succumbing to their injuries at the scene.
The police confirmed that no one else was injured in the crash.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including firefighters and St John WA paramedics, rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
One of the trucks involved in the accident veered off the road and into the nearby bushland.
The police and emergency services have cordoned off the area, and commuters are advised to seek alternative routes.
Road Closures
As a result of the crash, Great Northern Highway has been closed in both directions – northbound at Blue Plains Road and southbound at Chittering Road.
