A surprising post from 2011 has resurfaced on social media, and it’s got everyone talking.
Back then, Donald Trump claimed that Barack Obama, the President at the time, was looking to start a war with Iran to get re-elected. The irony?
It’s Trump who has now taken the US to war with Iran.
A Blast from the Past
The post, which was shared on X, claimed that Obama “had no ability to negotiate” and would launch a war against Iran to keep his power.
Trump said, “Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate. He’s weak and he’s ineffective.”
These comments are now being seen in a whole new light, given the current situation.
History Repeats Itself?
In the years that followed, Trump repeated similar comments, saying that Obama might attack Iran or Libya to boost his popularity and show his strength.
He even tweeted, “Now that Obama’s poll numbers are in a tailspin – watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran. He is desperate.”
It seems like Trump was trying to predict the future, but ended up describing his own actions instead.
The Plot Thickens
Fast forward to today, and the US has bombed three major nuclear sites in Iran.
Trump’s Vice-President, JD Vance, said that the operation wasn’t about “regime change”, but Trump himself contradicted this statement just hours later.
He said, “It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!”
This has left many wondering what the real motives are.
Iran Fights Back
In response to the US aggression, Iran has vowed to defend itself at all costs. The situation is escalating, and it’s hard to predict what will happen next.
One thing is for sure, though – Trump’s past comments have come back to haunt him, and the world is watching with bated breath.
