A devastating car accident in the Hunter region of New South Wales has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy, leaving a community in shock.
The incident occurred yesterday morning at approximately 7:45 am on the New England Highway at Murulla, about 25 kilometers north of Scone.

The collision involved two vehicles – a Holden Barina and a Nissan Elgrand.
The 85-year-old driver of the Barina suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further testing as a precautionary measure.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the young boy who was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition tragically passed away.

The occupants of the Elgrand were more fortunate, with a 38-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old man all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
