A shocking incident has occurred in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, leaving one man dead and two women injured.
The tragedy unfolded when a car, allegedly doing burnouts, hit a group of people at a fire trail off Haul Road in Stockrington, around midnight.
The 53-year-old man suffered critical head injuries and sadly passed away shortly after.
Two women, also believed to have been hit by the car, left the scene before emergency services arrived.
Police Investigation Underway
Police are now searching for the driver of the modified Ford Fairmont sedan, which was found burnt-out on McFarlanes Road in Chisolm at around 2:40 am.
The vehicle has been seized and will undergo forensic examination.
A crime scene has been established in both Stockrington and Chisolm, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
