Brisbane indie rockers Bugs are rallying around their bassist Jordan Brunoli, who’s been diagnosed with incurable stage four colorectal cancer at just 29 years old.
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Brunoli’s cancer has aggressively spread to his liver and lymph nodes, leaving him unable to work for the foreseeable future as he undergoes treatment.
The Shocking Diagnosis
Bugs took to social media on Sunday to share the devastating news, revealing that Brunoli’s diagnosis came “completely out of the blue” after months of constant pain and repeated visits to emergency departments and his GP.
“After months of constant pain, Jordan was finally sent for a scan and diagnosed, leaving him and his family in a state of shock,” the band wrote.
A Decade of Selfless Contributions
Jordan has been the backbone of Bugs, selflessly pouring his energy into the band for over a decade. His dedication and hard work have made a profoundly positive impact on the lives of many.
As a loving partner, son, and friend to many, Jordan has always been driven by a desire to connect with people through music and performance.
His commitment to his role at Ventia, where he worked as a civil leading hand, has earned him the respect of his colleagues.
Supporting Jordan’s Fight
To help Jordan and his partner navigate this challenging period, Bugs have launched a GoFundMe campaign with a target of $100,000.
Over $46,500 has already been raised in just a few days, but every bit of support counts.
“We’re hopeful all the people who have supported our music over the years can dig deep and offer us a hand. Any amount of assistance is greatly appreciated,” the band said.
You can contribute to the fundraiser here and help make a difference in Jordan’s life.
Our thoughts are with Jordan, his family, friends, and the entire Bugs community as they navigate this difficult time.
