Aussie influencer and TV star Lisa Hyde has taken to social media to share a health update from her hospital bed after being rushed to hospital following a health scare.
In a heartfelt post, the Bachelor alum shared a photo of herself in a neck brace, surrounded by family, and revealed that she’s been diagnosed with crowned dens syndrome, a rare condition that causes severe neck pain.
A ‘Wake-up Call’ to Slow Down
Hyde admitted that she’s been constantly pushing herself and her body just couldn’t keep up, saying the health scare was a “wake-up call” and that she’s grateful for the chance to slow down and reset.
“Sometimes you don’t choose the break – the break chooses you,” she wrote. “I’ve been constantly pushing myself and my body just couldn’t keep up.
Grateful for the wake-up call and the chance to slow down and reset.”
She also joked that next time, she’d appreciate a beach vacation in Europe instead of a hospital bed!
A Scary Moment at Home
Earlier this week, Hyde revealed that she collapsed at home and was found by her parents, who rushed her to hospital. Despite initial diagnoses of muscular issues, Hyde knew something was amiss and sought further treatment.
“Got home, then collapsed a couple hours later. My parents found me on the floor, barely able to talk or move. The pain was unbearable,” she said.
What is Crowned Dens Syndrome?
According to Spin-health.com, crowned dens syndrome is a rare condition where uric acid crystals build up in the spine, causing intense neck and head pain. Symptoms include intense neck pain and stiffness, and sometimes fever.
We’re sending Lisa all our best wishes for a speedy recovery!
