Legendary Aussie musician John Farnham has just welcomed the arrival of his first grandchild, and he couldn’t be prouder!
The Australian music industry icon took to social media to share the exciting news with his fans.
John’s son James and his partner Dr. Tessa Effendi welcomed their newborn baby boy, Jett John Farnham, at 5:26 pm on Wednesday, June 18.
Weighing 3.176 kg, baby Jett arrived ahead of his expected birth date at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Melbourne.
Farnham Family Over the Moon
John and his wife Jill Farnham are absolutely thrilled to become grandparents for the first time. “We are over the moon about the arrival of this perfectly beautiful little boy,” they said in a statement.
“He’s already filled our hearts with so much love, and we’re so proud and happy for James and Tessa. Welcome to the world, Jett!”
James and Tessa also expressed their joy, saying, “We thought we were excited to meet him—but turns out he was even more excited to meet us, arriving a little ahead of schedule.”
They added, “Jett is our whole world in one tiny, noisy, perfect package. We’re smitten, we’re sleep-deprived, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
This happy news comes after John Farnham’s health struggles, including undergoing jaw reconstruction surgery and battling oral cancer.
Fortunately, he has since been cleared of cancer and is on the mend.
John Farnham is best known for his iconic hit “You’re the Voice,” released in 1986, which has become an Australian household staple.
