Imagine coming home to find your car riddled with bullet holes.
That’s exactly what happened to a couple in Narangba, a town located about 50 minutes north of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.
But what led up to this shocking discovery is even more alarming.
The Aftermath
The couple’s Mitsubishi Triton was found with bullet holes on the driver’s side, and the following day, more shots were fired, smashing the rear window and shooting off the driver’s side mirror.
This wasn’t just a random act of violence – the couple believes it’s connected to a debt.
The woman living at the home shared her fears with 7News, saying, “You’re still worried about what could happen because obviously, when someone’s got a gun, you know, that’s your life being threatened.”
The Incident Unfolds
But let’s go back to the beginning.
On Saturday morning, CCTV footage captured a man approaching the property, knocking repeatedly, and demanding someone come to the door.
The video, now in the hands of police, shows the man yelling, “Open the door — Don’t make me smash a window.”
He was seen hitting the door with his gun before walking away. This chilling moment was just the start of a series of terrifying events.
A Similar Heroic Act
In a separate incident earlier this year, a pilot was hailed as a “hero” after he stopped a 15-year-old boy who stormed an airport with a rifle and demanded access to a plane.
The teenager arrived at the small regional airport in Arkansas, US, with an AR-style rifle and a handgun, but the quick-thinking pilot sprang into action and ran to grab his own gun.
This heroic act prevented what could have been a disastrous outcome.
The Search for Answers
Special police in tactical gear searched the property on Monday morning after receiving information about a person of interest.
Although no one was located and no weapons were discovered, police investigations are continuing. The couple is still shaken, and anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
As the woman said, the threat of a gun is a threat to one’s life, and it’s essential that those responsible are brought to justice.
