A devastating car accident in Templestowe has left two people dead and a community in shock.
The incident, which occurred on Fitzsimons Lane around 9:25 am, involved multiple vehicles and has sparked a thorough investigation by the Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
What Happened?
It’s believed that a silver SUV, traveling northbound, veered onto the wrong side of the road and crashed head-on into a small hatchback.
The occupants of the hatchback, whose identities have not been released, tragically died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV, a 54-year-old woman from Balwyn North, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She is currently under police guard.

A grey compact SUV was also hit in the aftermath of the initial collision. Fortunately, the people inside this vehicle escaped without injury.
