If you’re a regular commuter on the Monash Freeway, you’ll want to know about a shocking hit-and-run incident that left three children injured.
The crash happened on Monday, 7 June, around 6:10 pm, and police are still searching for witnesses.
The Desperate Hunt for Witnesses
Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen the collision or has dash cam footage to come forward.
The crash occurred near the Burney Tunnel, High Street, and Warragul Road, between 5:50 pm and 6:30 pm.

A black BMW sedan was seen driving erratically and at high speed before colliding with a white Kia SUV.
The BMW’s driver didn’t stick around to face the consequences, fleeing the scene and leaving behind a vehicle with a missing wheel. The car was later found abandoned in a carpark on Warragul Road.
The Aftermath of the Crash
The Kia’s driver, a 35-year-old man from Seaford, received medical treatment at the scene.
His front passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Somerville, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Fortunately, the three children, aged 4 months, 6, and 8 years old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
The community is still reeling from the incident, and police are working tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
Prahran Highway Patrol officers are investigating the incident and are eager to speak to anyone who may have information.
