Traffic Chaos in the Blue Mountains
Sydney, get ready for a traffic nightmare! A car and motorcycles were involved in a terrifying crash on the Great Western Highway, near Blackheath, causing major delays and disruptions.
The incident occurred near Tennyson Rd, on the outskirts of Blackheath, and emergency services, traffic crews, and a medical helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
The roads were closed just after midday, and traffic cameras showed huge jams, with cars lined up in a snaking traffic jam through the centre of the Blue Mountains town.
Avoid the Area, Motorists Warned
Motorists have been advised to avoid the areas and use Bells Line of Road instead. Any drivers already in the area can expect “significant delays” as traffic is very heavy in both directions.
According to the NSW LiveTraffic map, congestion is stretching from Mount Victoria down to Katoomba.
By 1.30pm, both of the lanes had been reopened, but traffic is still expected to be heavy.
