A 57-year-old man was found stabbed to death in the front yard of his multimillion-dollar home on the Sunshine Coast, sparking a major homicide investigation.
A Valued Member of the Community
Zdravko Bilic, a respected member of the community, was found unresponsive by a neighbor on Monday evening outside his luxury beachside home in Warana.
He had suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and was declared deceased at the scene.
Bilic’s wife, Gry Tomte, a successful skincare entrepreneur, is said to be cooperating with the police investigation.
The Investigation Unfolds
Detective Inspector Chris Toohey confirmed that Bilic was home alone when the incident occurred and that police are exploring several lines of inquiry, including the possibility that he may have disturbed a break-in.
The police are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between Sunday night and Monday evening to come forward.
Bilic was described as a “valued member of the community” who was well-loved in the area.
A Luxury Home in a Desirable Location
The Warana home, which cost $2.5 million, is located in one of the most sought-after suburbs on the Sunshine Coast, known for its pristine beaches and tight-knit community.
The area is regarded as one of the safest and most desirable parts of the coast.
