A tragic discovery was made at Echo Beach in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 6:45 am after a body was spotted on the rocks.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious at this stage, but police have established a crime scene and are continuing to investigate.
A Quiet and Family-Friendly Spot
Echo Beach, located near the busier Burleigh Beach, is a popular spot for families and tourists alike, offering a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere.
One nearby resident, Elise, described the discovery as “horribly sad.”
“We have no idea what happened, but it’s horribly sad to see this,” she said. “My heart goes out to the family.”
The scene was just metres away from families and joggers enjoying the area, making the discovery even more shocking.
