The Gold Coast has been rocked by the discovery of a body on Palm Beach, just 24 hours after another body was found at a nearby beach.
The body of an elderly woman, believed to be in her 70s or 80s, was found on the beach at around 5:40 am on Sunday morning.
The woman was barefoot, wearing a puffer jacket over a brown woollen jumper, and black tights.
Despite efforts, police have been unable to identify the woman and are now appealing to the public for assistance.
The woman is described as Caucasian, around 160cm in height, with short, grey hair.
Queensland Police have confirmed that the woman’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Investigations are ongoing, with police working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
This latest discovery comes on the heels of the body of a man found at Echo Beach at Tallebudgera Creek in Gold Coast’s Burleigh Heads just 24 hours earlier.
Police have declared that incident a crime scene and are continuing to investigate the death.
